About these terms

These terms apply when you use the Team UK Performing Arts website and when you submit entries for our championships. By applying, you accept them on behalf of yourself and your dance school.

Accounts

• Accounts are for studio owners, dance teachers, judges and Team UK administrators.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for anything done using your account.
• Judge and administrator accounts are individual. They must not be shared, because every score is recorded against the person who submitted it.
• Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to your account.

Applying

• Entries are submitted by a studio owner or dance teacher on behalf of their dancers.
• By entering a dancer you confirm you have permission from that dancer’s parent or guardian, including permission to share their audition video with our judging panel.
• Dancers must reside in, or be citizens of, the United Kingdom.
• The number of performers in an entry must match the category selected.
• Each entry requires its own audition video. Videos must be unedited and filmed in landscape.
• You confirm that the information you provide, including dates of birth, is accurate. Entries found to contain inaccurate information may be disqualified.

Fees and payment

• Current entry fees are shown on the Auditions page and in the application form.
• Your total is calculated automatically from the entries you create. You will see the full amount before you reach checkout.
• Payment is taken through Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
• An application is only complete once payment has been confirmed. Entries that have not been paid for are not passed to the judging panel.
• Fees paid to Team UK cover the qualification process only. Championship entry fees payable to the IDO, travel and accommodation are separate and are the responsibility of the studio.

Refunds

• Entry fees cover the cost of judging and administering your entry, and are non-refundable once judging has begun.
• If you have paid in error, or an entry was duplicated, contact us before judging opens and we will refund it.
• Not achieving the qualification score is not grounds for a refund — the judging service has been provided either way.
• If we cancel a championship qualification round entirely, we will refund the affected entry fees in full.

Judging and selection

• Each entry is scored independently by three judges on Technique, Composition and Image, each out of ten.
• The overall score is only finalised once all three judges have submitted.
• The current qualification score is published on the Auditions page. It may change between competition years and will be published before applications open.
• Reaching the qualification score marks an entry as qualified by score. It does not guarantee a place: the number of pieces each championship can accept is limited by its Event Participation Number, and Team UK confirms the final selection.
• Judges’ decisions are final. We do not enter into correspondence about individual scores.
• Whether written judge feedback is shared with applicants is at Team UK’s discretion.

Conduct

Everyone taking part is expected to show respect to judges, organisers and fellow competitors. We may remove an entry, or withdraw a place, where behaviour falls short of that standard.

Your content

• You keep ownership of the audition videos and other material you submit.
• You grant Team UK permission to store your material and to show it to our judging panel for the purpose of assessing your entry.
• We will not publish your audition video or use it for marketing without asking you first.
• You confirm you have the right to submit the material, including any music used in the routine.

Liability

We take care to keep this website accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not liable for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including travel disruption or changes made by the International Dance Organisation to championship dates, formats or participation limits.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms, for example when fees or the qualification score change for a new competition year. The terms in force when you submit an application are the ones that apply to it.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
