Our mission
Bringing together elite dancers from across the UK
We exist to give British dancers a genuine route to the international stage — and to make sure they arrive prepared.
Since 2008, Team UK Performing Arts has supported hundreds of British dancers competing in tap, acro, jazz, modern and contemporary at venues across Europe. Our dancers come from studios the length and breadth of the country, and they represent the nation through technical excellence and creative performance.
Team UK is more than a competition team. It is a national programme built to develop dancers into international performers, with a clear qualification process, experienced coaching and a standard that does not move.

A record built over fifteen years
Tap Attack
The national tap team
Team UK’s tap programme is led by Jo Scanlan through Tap Attack, which manages the national tap team and its preparation for international competition.
Team UK Tap has competed at the IDO World Tap Dance Championships every year since 2008, collecting world titles and repeated podium placements at the European Tap Dance Championships along the way.
Each championship draws more than fifteen hundred competitors from over twenty countries — the level is genuinely world class, and it is the level our dancers are prepared for.

International experience
Competing across Europe
Our dancers have competed in Germany, Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, taking on the strongest national teams in the world across tap, acro, jazz, modern and contemporary.
IDO championships are structured in rounds — quarter-finals, semi-finals of roughly twelve to eighteen dancers, then a final of five to seven. Reaching the later rounds against that field is a serious achievement, and our dancers do it consistently.
